And in a strange way too. The wifi is working just fine, so it isn't the ISP fault this time. I figured the Ethernet cord went bad but when I bought a new one it still didn't work. The modem even shows it as connected from time to time but I couldn't connect to the Internet.
Also I used the old Ethernet cable to connect my Xbox to the modem and the modem lit up. Couldn't see if I could connect since I didn't have a long enough hdmi cord. So if its not the cord or the modem it must be the computer right? I have no idea what to do about it :/

I had the opposite problem. Ethernet working perfectly, WIFI not working at all. I re-installed the drivers and everything was good again.

your isp can be down and wifi will still work.

Well, it has been two days. Reinstalling the drivers didn't work. I think I might just buy one of those USB wifi adapters for a quick fix, expecially since this has happened before.
