We considered taking a road trip to Cali to get the stuff we could never bring here, and stop in Vegas to stay with my father in law, and see some old friends. However, now that we'll be farther away than expected, we probably won't be making the trip. If we go, it'll be by plane and not for awhile.

If you're up for making that road trip though, Chopper, go for it!

@Zachary: Lol, after living away from the US, I definitely learned to appreciate it.

@Muffin: Thanks! It's not what I expected either, but when there's nothing you can do about it, you just have to look at the positives. I'm sure we'll have A/C. I don't think we'd tolerate it otherwise, lol.

@Black: Little Rock is the biggest city in Arkansas, but comparing it to Las Vegas, where I grew up, it's more mid-size. It's still probably better than when I lived in Wilmington, NC, but we'll see. I think I'll have an opportunity to at least get some nice photos there. And don't worry, I haven't forgotten how to drive in the US. =-P

We lived in Wilmington. The only really plus side about living there was the beach being 30 minutes away. I think I disliked it there mostly because that's when we ended up poor. Husband lost his job, and we had to rely on just my part time job and credit cards to survive. We ended up getting all our groceries from the dollar store, and ended up about $10k in debt. It was good to be close to my mom and spend time with her, and get some time with my grandma before she passed, but there was a lot of bad there. Plus, it wasn't much of a town. Very limited when it came to options of places to go, to shop at, to eat at, etc. I think I would've preferred it had we been in Charlotte, but that was about 4 hours West of us.
