New Version of CTF-(Hel)Skybreakers

I know, I know, when are you going to finish your Star Wars maps? I'll get the one I posted about earlier, out to you as soon as I can. I get this urge though, to edit the maps we play on a regular basis. So here I am modding another one. Been working on this for a few days now. Here's a little video.

I think the side tunnels at each base should have shootable doors to open, rather than it having nothing there.

I was thinking of that too Pie, but wasn't sure if it would be a popular choice. The only thing is that I zoned the tunnel openings to cut down on how much of the map has to be rendered at the same time. I'd first have to remove the zones on each tunnel opening, then make shootable doors, then re-insert the zones again. But if everyone agrees that shootable doors are what they'd like, I can do it.

Right now, there's very little change in map geometry. It's really just the tunnel openings in the core map area that are obviously different. New textures are the biggest change to this map. Plus I added some flame torches and distributed more weapons throughout. There are a number of UT Jet-boot (jump boots) also. If you haven't seen these before, they work a little different than regular jump boots. After you grab the boots and go to jump, hold down your spacebar and you're propelled through the air in a forward direction for a number of seconds. Might make for some funny game play. :thumbup

Yeah Skybreakers is one of my favorite maps , it looks great real updated , nice ceramic smooth looking walls , can't wait to try it out .

Looks fun, and gets me hankering to maybe edit it someday for an extra thrill.

Prior to my computer up and dying, currently getting fixed, I started editing UTDMT onto CTF maps:

Think your map would be more of a challenge if while you were sweeping in on those jets a Titan on the enemy team tried to nail you with boulders?

Just wanted to let you know that this map is done. I finished it last night. I made some changes, based on pie's thought's. Instead of using shootable doors at the end of each tunnel, I added tall panels to slow down the flag carrier's egress through it.

Added additional health pickups and also some asthetics. I think it's really nice. Plays nice and looks nice. Tunnels are zoned to help speed up the map. Will get the files together tonight and shoot them over to RJ. This map has several areas where jet jump-boots are available as pickups.

Here's how you use them:
After you pickup a pair of jump boots, hold down your spacebar and it lifts you and propels you forward for a short period, then drops you back down on the ground. Should make for some interesting game-play.

No screen-shots, sorry but the map will soon be on the server. Hope you like it. :peace

Ok peeps, CTF-VM(Hel)Skybreakers_II is complete!

I just shot RJ the link and asked to have it added to the server. In the interest of those who'd also like to play this off-line with the bots, I bot-pathed this map as well. Map has a new screen-shot preview too. I think this map would have been completed sooner, had I not spent so much time playing it!
