NEW WIFI adapter, maybe this will also help others

My gaming computer is a desktop style which I inherited from my daughter who always buys high end systems for her work (they pay for them, and she gets to keep the older ones). So, have been using a great video card with radiator system and lots of RAM, and fast most everything else. BUT..... while my latency to the server was fine (slower than damned Bad Company who is virtually sitting ON the server in NY, and gets like a 17 ping! The bastage! LOL) at about a normal 57 or so......

My performance getting data packets from my machine to my WIFI seemed to be horrible. And, worse yet, the old (like more than 10 years old) USB adapter WIFI I had plugged into my machine kept crapping out. Would take me 20 minutes several times a week to get back on line. The old adapter was a TP-Link QAC1300 Dual Band. But, even when it worked, the throughput to the router was s-l-o-w.....

So, mostly to solve the apparent DYING issue of that adapter, I just bought a new USB adapter (there's no good way to get a CAT cable to here). It's a Dual Band, with two antennae, and has a higher throughput than my previous dying beast, now at 1200 MBPS. Got it through Amazon, and had it next day, about $20.

Wow, the connection between my system and the router is now amazing. And, I feel I am back controlling the RX in tight places again. Sure, I'm getting old, fingers hurt after a few games, and dealing with this damned cancer and chemo again. However, this is my once in a while opportunity to escape the boredom of cancer and chemo every now and then, and being able to keep up with a few of the better players makes my day (Dirty Harry reference).

If anyone would like a link for what I bought, let me know. It's originally designed to be an upgrade adapter for older laptops with built in "N" wireless network circuits. But it works just fine for me to connect the game.

Getting the right wireless equipment is worth the investment. Glad the upgrade helped you out.

My original post seemed to "populate" just fine for me, then again we all know how ODD I am. Thanks, however, for "fixing" it so others can see what I got.

I actually DID receive the 10% off coupon. Really happy with the results.

Now, if we can get Bad Co 's 15 ping to be the same as the rest of us. LOL He and I always have a good time joking about that. He's like almost right on top of the server, I think in New Jersey (Exit 5 - old joke!)

Shit, RJ's ping is like 10. Pretty sure he Lans the server while we Wan it Gotta say though that ZP or whatever is on there really helps. I remember the days long ago you had to anticipate for this delay and was really bad of you had over 150 ping which was pretty acceptable I think. Considering I get like 50 or 60 ping now I have zero complaints.
